I’ve sent an email with word attachment but here’s the report too.
A disappointing 7-1 defeat for Huntingdon and Northstowe Hockey club 1 XI team away at Kettering on Saturday 25th January. A 1st team depleted of players through injury and availability saw 6 development team players recruited to enable the game to go ahead. The score did not reflect the commitment of a team who kept the ball in their attacking end for much of the game. Skillful passing and continued fantastic interceptions from Cora, Amy, Paula and Maria saw some great opportunities towards goal and then finally a goal came from the Captain Paula from a short corner to lift the Hunters spirits.
A continued team spirit throughout the game, despite the scoreline, saw Hunters fight to the end, but with a full 1st team and subs to keep a Kettering team fresh, the opposition retained a strong home win
